Welcome to the fourth devlog from EJG Corp.

In this update, we explore the recent advancements in our game's development, specifically focusing on the controlled respawn mechanic, camera movement, death conditions, and the implementation of a parallax background. Since our last devlog, we've made significant progress in these areas, ensuring a more immersive and dynamic gameplay experience.

Since the last devlog, we have been focusing on the following tasks:

- Death and respawn mechanic

- Death conditions

- Camera movement

- Parallax background

What are we working on now?

Currently, our efforts are directed towards completing the level design, refining the menu design, adding level objects, and ensuring that the art design aligns seamlessly with the game's lore. These enhancements aim to enrich the overall aesthetic and functionality of the game, paving the way for a more polished and engaging player experience. Here is a list of the things that we are currently working:

- Complete level design

- Art design matching game and lore

Innovative Mechanics

Work has been done on mechanics that allow the player to respawn in the form of another cat. A respawn point has been implemented, and other cats have been added that can also be revived. For now, it only works with two cats, but the groundwork has been laid for others.

Victory/Defeat Conditions

In this case, the implemented victory condition is reaching the Godot symbol, which triggers a scene change and displays a victory message indicating the level has been passed. On the other hand, the defeat condition is dying and running out of cats to revive with.
